Will Kitchen grew up in the Rochester, NY area and received his BFA in Art from the prestigious Cooper Union Institute in New York City. He spent one year in France studying in Brassac and at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Rouen. He has lived in New York, Boston, Amherst, and Seattle, where he worked in potteries, bakeries, book companies, and as a house painter in order to spend his other hours painting.

His work has been shown in galleries on both the east and west coasts, and now hangs in a number of private collections. It has also appeared as cover art for the State Street Press poetry chapbook series and on two anthologies published by W. W. Norton & Co: In Short: A Collection of Brief Creative Nonfiction, and In Brief: Short Takes on the Personal.

Kitchen works mostly in oils, but he is adept at other media, including pencil and watercolor sketches, and pen and ink drawings.
